Review of Bandits (1987) by Arvin D — 02 Mar 2011
I missed this when it came out ten years ago, a strange thing since I am a Cate Blanchett/Bruce Willis fan. Wondering why it took me so long to discover. It's a comedy, folks, and it had me laughing throughout, an effect it didn't seem to have on the critics.
Their loss. Billy Bob Thornton (Terry) is hilarious and the film kicks into high gear with the appearance of Kate (Cate Blanchett) lip synching "Holding Out For a Hero" while cooking dinner.
It could have been a bit shorter, and the ending was less than expected, but a pleasant, entertaining surprise, nonetheless. Lot's to enjoy in this film.
