Review of Bandidas (2009) by Carlos R — 18 Sep 2011
A lame and annoying start, but from the moment where Sam Shepard's character appears (when the main characters become friends), the film then starts being a fabulous comedy/adventure/western film. It's not at all the best the genre has to offer, however the film was very enjoyable mostly because of the fantastic and charismatic performances of Steve Zhan, Penélope Cruz and Salma Hayek. And it was precisely Steve Zhan who had the most memorable performance, and he is in my opinion one of the best character actor nowadays. There was even an incredibly sexy scene that turned me on a bit.
I don't understand how can anyone hate such a funny and entertaining film like this. Very underrated.
