Review of Bandidas (2009) by Amber K — 20 May 2010
Enjoyed this film. It was funny and light hearted. The story is a bit different and that's what I like. Well acted, Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz were great. They really dived into their characters and took over the roles of 'Bandidas' out for justice.
They both did beautifully in these roles. The supporting cast was good. Steve Zahn (who seems to be popping up in everything) did very well and I thought he played the character with a sort of smarts and humor, just as I believe it was intended.
I would have to say that the cast was very well chosen and I couldn't see anyone else in these roles. The plot is your basic good guy vs. bad guy western. The story is obviously different in the way that the women are the lead roles.
I found that the story was very entertaining and never lacked a bit of humor. The story is believable in the way women might have robbed banks in the old west. I thought the film was light humored and have enough action to keep your attention.
This was a fun film to watch. The film stayed at a decant pace never really slowing or speeding up simply stay steady enough to keep your interested. I enjoyed the sets. It seemed to be an overall fun film and the sets add to that.
It really takes you to the old west and makes you feel like you were ther. Overall I thought this was a good and well rounded film. I would recommend this film, I think it has a little something for everyone.
