Review of Bambi II (2006) by Claire M — 25 Aug 2007
Wait a minute... it's not possible... There's just no way Disney could make a DTV sequel that doesn't suck. I never thought it would happen, but Disney made a direct-to-video sequel to their most beloved classic- and it wasn't crap. The animation is absolutely gorgeous, almost on par with the original. Patrick Stewart provided an unmatchable performance as Bambi's father, and Alexander Gould ( aka- Nemo ) was an exceptional choice for young Bambi.
The flaws: The fact that the songs were lousy, and the variance in script quality. Those are my only gripes. If you thought Disney was incapable of making a good sequel, this and ' Simba's Pride' may be the films that change your mind. Four stars, the best rating I've ever given to a DTV.
