Review of Bambi II (2006) by Peter R — 17 Aug 2009
This movie is good, but it could've been better. This movie doesn't really feel like a sequel to Bambi, it feels more like a prequel. I say this because this movie takes place around the part of the first movie where Bambi was young and his mother was murdered, after this happens Bambi becomes raised by the great prince (who is Bambi's father. I don't understand why he hasn't told Bambi that he's his dad.) and the rest of the story writes itself from there.
Bambi gets developed quite a bit in this one, but he makes stupid mistakes at times, which costed this movie some points - this is 1 of the faults that this movie has. Despite the greatness of this movie, it has other fault such as Faline and Bambi not spending a lot of time together or making out - and they really should do this. Another fauly is that Bambi's father wanted him to move to another forest with his lover Mina - who is a friend of Bambi's mom. Anyway, the good thing is that in the end Bambi doesn't move away with Mina and stays at the forest where he currently lives. It's stupid and mean to make Bambi move to another forest, deers don't usually do this;they are usually happy with the forest that they currently live in. It's last fault is that it doesn't have a lot of humor in it, it needs more of it.
- Overall this movie is good, but it's not as good as the first movie. 8/10.
