Review of Bam Bam and Celeste (2005) by Peter W — 06 Jul 2009
Any film that boasts Cho and Jane Lynch as cast members should be a hit, but after a cute high school misfit opening, the movie looses steam quite quickly. Concsiously-campy acting and cliché joking really prevented this story from taking off while Cho reprises her role, yet again, of a Korean mother which appears no differently than her usual comic shtick.
Although I loved the darkly funny racial and homophobic exposés and I hate turning off anything that stars Margaret Cho, I was not able to keep interest long enough to watch the entire film.
