Review of Ballast (2008) by Joseph S — 05 Feb 2010
My enthusiasm for this movie has cooled a littl bit. It's still very good, and recommended viewing, but this sensibility and style is a matter of preference(for the record I like it's style). The editing is great, and much faster than I had expected, very crisp really, but you will know by the trailer whether this style is up your alley.
More hopeful than "Precious" even though that is called the "truimph" while this is called the "tragedy", it's a clear case of backwards advertising. Its definitely a stride forward for "New Natrualism".
