Touching portrait of one soldier's journey back home to see his mother, if only for a few minutes, and all the people he meets along the way. I'm not or have I ever been a soldier, but the hero's journey resonated with me as he encounters people and stumbles across love and loses it before he realizes he had it.
Fantastic Russian film that breaks from the usual propaganda the USSR has spurting out at this time.
