Review of Ball of Fire (1941) by Tara H — 19 Feb 2015
People love Billy Wilder, and you can sense his touch in Ball of Fire. Eight sheltered and stuffy professors are making the world's greatest encyclopedia, but head Professor Bertram Potts needs to update his "slang" section.
He crosses paths with a gangster's moll, and it unravels into a sweet and silly screwball comedy with just enough moxy to get along if you catch my drift. Cooper and Stanwyck sizzle with chemistry, for a very delightful film.
