Review of Baise-moi (2000) by Steven B — 10 Sep 2008
Low budget affair which doesn't quite fulfill its intentions as a feminist movie commenting on sexism in movies. Instead it ends up a basic exploitation movie with graphic sex and violence. I have no problem with women killing men in films but there is no point in trying to suggest it has some deeper meaning.
In films, men kill men, men kill women, men use women as sex objects. This films has two women doing that, big deal, however unlike Thelma & Louise where you feel they were justified and felt for them these two, after a justifiable initial killing, just go on a rampage.
