Maybe it was the fact that I watched it on my laptop in the dark of night (the screen only inches from my face), but Baghead succeeded in scaring the crap out of me. I was actually trembling! Granted it was a little chilly in my house and I wasn't using a blanket, but I found myself so scared that it reminded me of when I was 8 and saw the first Friday the 13th.

All that aside, Baghead offers solid performances from no name actors in a documentary style little indie flick shot on a budget of almost nothing. The way the actors improv and the things that they did really made me feel like I was watching actual people, not payed actors.

I don't want to explain too much without giving away anything, but let's just say it's 4 friends who retreat to a cabin to write a screenplay and find out that they may not be alone in those woods.

Just watch the trailer. Now Baghead isn't perfect (it has a few cheesy horror movie cliches), but it did suck me into the story and scared the crap out of me. The scares alone are enough for me to give it a 4 out of 5.

This is unlike any "slasher" movie you've ever seen. Ever. Sony scooped the film up after it rocked Sundance Film Festival, and it could have been profitable if marketed just right during a slow time of year, but instead I think it got released in the summer in like 12 theaters.

Fucking Hollywood. Now if you see this movie and you decide you like it, then you should check out the director's film before this called "The Puffy Chair," which I'm going to review now.
