Review of Baghead (2008) by Drew M — 20 Nov 2010
Pretty much ended the short lived hype around "mumblecore" cinema. Instead of trying to mix it up by diving deeper into it's characters, it tries to mix it up by mocking... indie slasher flicks? Then again, I've long thought the Duplass Brothers were far from the best representatives for this type of cinema.
They lack the clearly superior wit and insight of Andrew Bujalski. If "mumblecore" is dead, then check out the much better swan song "Mutual Appreciation". You'll get more than extremely out-dated "Blair Witch Project" knocks.
