Review of Baghead (2008) by Geoff T — 30 Dec 2008
Dirt-budget gem. Four actors who are down on their luck decide to go to a recluse cabin in the woods to work on a movie starring them to jump-start their careers. Brainstorming, they come up with the idea of the antagonist being a mystery man with a bag over his head who starts assailing them.
They start screwing around with each other, donning a bag whenever they want to scare with each other, but you don't know if it's starting to become real or not. This movie actually inspired me quite a bit from the film making aspect, being someone who wants to eventually be in the movie business.
It's not even a love triangle; it's a love square. You really connect with these characters; you feel for one of the guys when he gets the "just friends" treatment. The horror-comedy is one of my favorite genres, and this one won me over.
