Review of Bad Words (2013) by Andrew Z — 06 Aug 2014
Jason Bateman and Rohan Chand steal the show on this wonderful, mean at times but hilarious film that will have you cheering for Chaitanya (Rohan Chand), the almost 10 year old Indian boy that is Guy's nemesis (or is he really).
Bateman plays the role of Guy Trilby a 40 year old that due to a loophole in the Spelling Bee rules, manages to compete in the national spelling bee contest. Imagine the dismay of every parent, to see an adult who clearly has the psychological and emotional advantage over the kids competing at this prestigious event taking place in Los Angeles CA! No kid can defeat this man but is there a master plan behind all this? What is Guy Trilby up to? As a reporter (K.
Hahn) As a reporter attempts to discover his true motivation, Guy finds himself forging an alliance with Chaitanya and the end will leave you with a smile on your face. Ohh I like that little boy so much, wish he could be my son.
Adorable and so smart! I say run to the nearest redbox or rent from Apple, Amazon and other sites. You won't be disappointed, BAD WORDS delivers laughter galore and celebrates the meaning of friendship.
RECOMMENDED!!!
