Decent enough Linklater comedy, that unfortunately suffers under the fact that movies about sports can almost never be enjoyable. Billy Bob Thornton gives a very 'Bad Santa' performance in the lead role which is always fun, and the script makes up for the bland subject, but it's nowhere even close to Linklater's best.
