Review of Bad Day at Black Rock (1955) by Byron B — 04 Jul 2008
An awesome all-time classic. Spencer Tracy as a one-armed ass kicker in a secretive Western town run by the villainous likes of Robert Ryan, Ernest Borgnine and Lee Marvin, with the incomparable Walter Brennan as the wise ol' doc.
Controversial at the time of release for confronting post-war anti-Japanese stereotypes, today it still packs a heck of a punch.
