Review of Bad Boys II (2003) by Tredacian T — 04 Dec 2018
In the film Bad Boys II, two friends and detectives, Mike Lowry (Will Smith) and Marcus Bennett (Martin Lawrence), have been assigned to a task force investigating the ecstacy outbreak in Miami. Their investigations accidentally cause them to stumble upon a case of a ruthless kingpin, who has created a huge turf war resulting in multiple deaths, in attempt to control the Miami drug trade.
Mike and Marcus, who were great friends outside of work, had their relationship put at stake when Mike starts to develop a relationship with Marcus' sister Syd (Gabrielle Union). This personal problem endangers both Syd's life and the lead on the case, and without a resolution disaster is sure to ensue.
The film holds true to its action categorization with numerous high intensity scenes.Throughout the film there are numerous occasions where breathtaking gun fights and car chases ensue. One of these standout scenes is one where Syd is transporting money and is attacked by a group of men in attempts to steal the money.
Mike and Marcus stumble upon the action and and vicious gun fight, and car chase breaks out, devastating everything in their path with car explosions and a seemingly endless supply of ammunition. During these intense scenes vigorous editing and special effects were added in by filmmakers, complementing the two amazingly talented protagonists' acting, and screening some of the tale tell signs of a great action film.
