Review of Back to the Future Part II (1989) by Stephen G — 11 Apr 2012
I honestly believe that Back to the Future 2, is not only a brilliant movie, but also possibly the greatest movie about Time Travel ever made. Most would say The Terminator or such, but really, when you look at this film, you can tell how well itâ(TM)s been made. Over the course of the film, Michael J Fox plays not only Present Day Marty, but 3 other characters and does it brilliantly, Doc Brown has two version to play, his girlfriend has two characters to play, his mother becomes 3 different characters, and Biff has 3 different forms of characters to play, and yet every single one of them are different, distinctive, believable, and well portrayed.
Not only that, but there are 4 different time eraâ(TM)s being portrayed, 1955, 1985, 2015, and Alternate 1985, and each one are not only portrayed in a distinctive manner, but work within the context of the story. But the question is, is it still a good movie if you take this away? Yes, the script is magnificent again, the characters all have great lines and moments, and it wonderfully bridges the first film into the second and the second into the third, an act not many Trilogies can say they perfect. A wonderful film that is enjoyable in itâ(TM)s own right.
