Review of Bachelorette (2012) by Kelly B — 08 Apr 2013

Kirsten Dunst is one of my favorite actresses; I consider her among the most talented that Hollywood has to offer. And I have to wonder what what in the world compelled her to accept a role in this movie.

Surely it can't read much better on paper than it plays on the big screen. This is a thoroughly mediocre picture in my opinion. None of the characters are likable-- the comedy rarely rises to the level that you can tell it's actually comedy-- the drama is underdeveloped, trite, and charmless-- and the ending seems as silly as it does shallow.

I am sorry to publish such an unflattering review: I guess that I am unpleasantly surprised to find so little to like in a Kirsten Dunst movie.
