Could have been a great movie. They had all the pieces and did some really interesting things. Unfortunately, it felt like the director or screenplay writer had read the book and decided that they just had to have some scenes that were taken directly from the novel. This meant that there are some scenes that are really interesting but don't really move the story or help the plot.

Instead, it slows you down. And at only 1 1/2 hours, slow is not how you want your movie to be characterized.
