Review of Babel (2008) by Sergio R — 11 Jun 2013
Socially complex and politically intriguing, Babel offers to the spectators an unrestrained vision of reality and tragedy with the unique direction of Alejandro González Iñarritu, the screenplay is very compelling and the performances are divine.
Rinko Kikuchi plays a very difficult character with very good results (in my opinion she deserved the Oscar), Adriana Barraza with a character that just takes the wrong decisions and goes into a decadent spiral. Everything is connected in this gritty retreat of the world where the language doesn't matter to express complicated themes on-screen.
