Review of Babel (2006) by Roydenirvine — 24 Feb 2007
A difficult film - but full of meaningful interconnections. I feel a lot of major media critics view the film with left brain consciousness, often replacing one's innocence/openness with the cynicism of growing old with importance .
It's also interesting how the Europe generally view Inarritu's work (and cinema). European consciousness seems to have a different set of 'glasses' when viewing the word. Externally and culturally.
They often see the art and not just the technical cleverness. Poetry - is that understood in today's world. Close to a masterpiece.
