Review of Away We Go (2009) by James . — 20 Dec 2010
There is absolutely nothing about this movie that I didn't like. It's funny, sad, heartwarming and heartwrenching all at the same time. John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph play the two leads and they were absolutely flawless, their chemistry was beautiful and completely undeniable.
The film takes them on a cross-country roadtrip trying to find the right place to raise their unborn child, learning new things about others, each other and themselves along the way. They learn what it it's like to raise kids and start a family.
They learn about the good, the bad and the ugly. Along with Krasinki's and Rudolph's respective performances everyone else in the film is entirely genius, there were no weak links in the acting department.
The soundtrack fits in perfectly with every single scene. By the end of the film the very last scene was so powerful that it brought a tear to my eye (no word of a lie). Yes that scene in particular, but the film as a whole is really that powerful.
