Review of Awakenings (1990) by Nicholas A — 30 Mar 2008
An emotionally charged and compelling dramabiography. Robin Williams offers his life best performance here while Robert De Niro is simply genius in his personification of an individual who wakes up after being catatonic for 30 years.
Tends to be strong on the mushy moments, but the subject is appropriate for this especially considering its based on a true story.
