Review of Awakenings (1990) by John W — 29 Apr 2018
This should be shown at least once in every psychiatry program in the U.S. Now, there was too much focus on the bureaucracy that Dr Sayer had to cut through, when the emphasis should have perhaps mirrored Dr Sacks' real-life experience with the backlash of his decisions that lingered over the rest of his career.
Still, what we get here is a truly enthralling tale of some of the undefinable psychological processes that we still have only scratched the surface of.
