Review of Awake (2007) by Sol C — 01 Sep 2009

This film took me by surprise. I wasn't sure what to expect from watching the trailer, but the film blew me away. It is scary to think that this could happen, when the anesthetic doesn't work while surgery and you are still awake and can't do anything.

I was surprised by the short running time for the film, an hour and eighteen minutes. The acting was really good, especially Hayden Christensen, Jessica Alba, Terrence Howard, and Lena Olin. Hayden should stay away from scifi films like Jumper and Star Wars and stick to dramas like this, Shattered Glass, and Factory Girl.

The only negative was that the film opens and ends with a voice over from Terrance Howard and that was a mistake, the voice over should have been Hayden's, not Terrance. I definitely recommend this film.
