Review of Awake (2007) by Sharal H — 11 Aug 2010
Bad enough that Clay has a defective heart that requires him to have a transplant. Bad enough that he has just married a beautiful woman and he has his whole life in front of him, a life that could be cut short because of his condition.
But to go under the knife and be completely awake while under the knife...experiencing anesthetic awareness, completely awake and aware and able to feel pain, but completely physically unable to move or voice a response.
That part was hard to watch but the movie kicked it up a huge notch when Clay overhears the team of surgeons discussing their plan to kill him. Excellent cast brings this psychological thriller to life that left me on the edge of the seat, also paralyzed with intensity waiting to see what would happen.
