If you have watched every single Marvel movie up until this point then this is a big payoff. To see all the characters interact the way they did was exactly how it felt with the first Avengers but on a galactic scale.
The ending is not what anybody was expecting but the way they did it and the fact you know that certain characters have movies in phase 4 when they died already gives away some plot of the next movie.
