Review of Avatar (2011) by Samir N — 10 Feb 2016

Turn your brain off before you watch this (for the sake of your own sanity if you value creativity and originality in your movie). Avatar is a visually stunning film and the VFX team should be applauded for decades and decades.

Avatar will, no doubt, go down in history as a special effects marvel but nothing more. The plot has been recycled from MANY (better written) films, the acting is average at best, the characters are incredibly inconsistent and one-dimensional plot devices, and the film ultimately leaves a feeling of disappointing if the effects don't completely immerse you.

So I'll say it again, the VFX team deserves an endless amount of respect for this project; but that's all the excellence the film has to offer.
