Avatar is a 2009 film directed by James Cameron. The story is set in the future where a company is trying to mine a new planet that they are on but the native humanoid species of that planet is interfering with that goal.

The story follows a man named Jake Sully and his interactions with the native species through his avatar body. The film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, and many others.

As for my thoughts on this movie: It was a masterpiece. I thought that Avatar was so great at everything that it did and was truly one of the best films that I have seen in my life. Not only was it spectacular in the plot, characters, and special effects, but the moral theme behind the story was also very strong.

Piece by piece, I thought that the plot was very good. This was a very unique take on a future sci-fi movie that I have never seen before. It developed with such elegance and fluidity that it all seemed to flow perfectly.

There was not a single part of the plot that seemed unnecessary or felt as if it just didn't fit there. The characters and the way that they developed them in this movie was definitely one of the best I have seen.

The way that they introduce the characters and introduce the native's civilization to Jake Sully was enthralling and throughout the whole movie you felt as if this was a place and a people that you would want to be with.

You were rooting for them the entire time and really felt like you had a personal connection to the characters themself. As for the special effects and the way that they made the movie in terms of color and CGI-and this is coming from a standpoint of watching it in 2018, nine years after it came out-they are some of the best I have ever seen.

Each shot dragged me in and kept me wanting for more. A final quick thing that I am going to say is that it brought a nice representation of themes and actual things that happened in history to a futuristic point to kind of show how we would react.

Of negative things about it, there is really nothing. If you are not a person who likes long movies, this one is 2 hours 42 minutes so that could make it not as good. However, I do not mind how long a movie is as long as if it is worth it, and by golly gee this movie is definitely worth it.

For that reason, the length did not negate the experience in any way. If anything, it improved it. Overall, this movie is one of the best I have ever seen. After watching it, all I wanted to do for about half an hour was to find out more about when we would get a sequel.

This is one of the best movies I have seen, and if you have not seen it yourself I would highly suggest seeing it yourself. I have not gotten the pleasure to watch it in 3D yet but I have heard that it makes the experience even better.
