So... We're supposed to wait 7 years for a "rapid" succession of sequels to James Cameron's remake of Ferngully...? Avatar was an impressive exercise in new film-making techniques, to be sure, but the story is straight-up tree-hugging schmaltz that we've seen repeatedly.
Big bad corporation destroys the forest, forest denizens fight back. That's Avatar, and Ferngully, and Medicine Man, et cetera, et al, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
