It would have been a much better movie I think if the ages were a little closer together. Winona and Gere just didn't connect. Now if it starred Julia Roberts with Gere or Freddie Prince with Winona it would have been a love story to remember.
I think the latter would be the better one because Winona was fabulous. Even though it was a tear jerker, it's hard to imagine what it could have been.
