Review of Australia (2008) by Zahra P — 17 Jun 2010
I was really surprised by this film! I was dreading watching this romantic period film. Thankfully, it doesn't dwell too much on the romance and the period it is set in is full of drama, tension and excitement.
It tells the story of the "Stolen Generations" which was all new to me. There was a tear in my eye more than once. Luckily the vibrant colour and excitement don't make it depressing. The actors are in full panto mode but that fits the 1940s era quite well.
The real star performance is from the amazing child actor, Brandon Walters. Its his story more than anyone else's.
