Review of Australia (2008) by Alonso G — 25 Mar 2011
Its a LONG movie (2h45m), so there is alot of ups and downs to comment on. For the 1st hour and a half the movie is about roving cattle through the Australian outback. Make no mistake, you will be tempted to think it is about the romance of the Australian desert, and the meeting of three worlds (Britain, White Australia and Aborigenal Australia).
Its not. Its about cattle and its not a great story. The last hour becomes a good Baz Luhrman romance in the face of war. Add to that a nice story about saving kids from bombs and you've got a decent second half to the movie.
