Review of Australia (2008) by Kc P — 01 May 2012
No time in cinematic history could this piece of schlock have been original except in its use of worn cliches. Sure, Kidman and Jackman are fine physical specimens, but the movie is far more concerned with putting them in the right cinematographic moment than developing their characters.
And the song, "Ballad of Drover," written by Baz Luhrmann and sung by Elton John as the credits rolled was the sugary, sticky, icing on the top of the fluffy cake.
