Review of Austenland (2013) by Kathryn R — 07 Feb 2015
Upon seeing the trailer for this fluffy, silly rom-com in 2013, I decided that it was meant to be watched on Netflix, never in a theatre. (Rom-coms and chick flicks: I don't tend to enjoy them, ever.) I was right.
However, I was WRONG to underestimate how much I actually ended-up enjoying and laughing at this film! Jennifer Coolidge kept me laughing aloud throughout, even though the story was predictable, with low-brow humour. (One must have knowledge of Austen stories/film versions to understand some of the humour â"particularly "Pride and Prejudice").
A chick flick to watch with your girlfriends, ladies, and a must-see for Austen fans!
