It is a shame that the critics have reviewed this badly as they seem to have missed the point. Like Jane Austen book club this told in the style of Austen rather then being a interpretation of one of her books.
Based on the book by Shannon Hale it is a near prefect adaptation. Keri Russell is great as the hopeful Jane and JJ Feild is adorable as Nobley. I loved the attention to detail (the fire action notice is in calligraphy).
The comedy actors all get to play grotesques but still get fun!
