Review of Aurora Borealis (1990) by Elliot R — 22 Sep 2007
A bittersweet look at life's changes, from falling in love to accepting the death of a loved one. Although Duncan Shorter has missed out on much of his grandfather's life, he shows up at a meaningful time.
His grandfather is dying and falling into dementia. Lewis plays a home nurse with a brightness that shows she is more than a stone cold killer. Fletcher is once again attending the insane, until the closing moments when she places her grandson's photo on the mantel, where her husband may view it from the beyond.
Burke directs with a quaint and poignant sensitivity. The music, although sparse, is excellent. Dylan starts it off...probably Sutherland got Bob to show up.
