Review of Auntie Mame (1958) by Kenneth G — 11 Apr 2008
I saw Lucille Ball's version first not knowing anything at all about this movie or the history of Mame. Then I saw Roz Russell's version and I was never the same. She gives a tour-de-force performance.
The dazzling sets and Orry-Kelly's costumes makes this movie a must-see. It's long and very episodic but Russell's fast talking and comic timing makes it go by in no time.
