I don't know who could have played this colorful character better than Rosalind Russell. Auntie Mame was the pinnacle for Russell's career. One of my favorite lines in this film is Mame exclaiming "life is a banquet, and most suckers are starving to death".
This 1958 musical film version of the stage and novel hit had me falling off my chair laughing!
