Review of August Underground's Mordum (2003) by Ryan M — 10 Aug 2007
No story? There's not supposed to be...
Shaky and bad camera work? It was actually made on a high quality digital camera and degraded purposefully to add to the realism (which in my opinion it does)...
Lack of character development? I'd completely disagree, it's a fantastic psychological study of the interaction between three pretty disturbed individuals built up through watching them communicate through the film...
Bad acting? I feel the acting is exactly what it should be, and that is amateur, as this is supposed to be an amateur home movie...
I've given a more indepth review of the first film, but I will say that this is the sickest film of the trilogy and aside from the only scene which I felt was a bit too long (the vomiting scene) it was almost every bit as good as the original... There's just something about August Underground which I feel makes it better than Mordum, despite the fact that this is a much sicker film...
All 2 films couldn't come more highly recommended to horror purists... If you're not really into horror then I would probably say not bother.
