Review of August: Osage County (2013) by Theorience — 21 Jan 2014
This Tour de Force cast can sometimes be overzealous but the cohesion shown in a movie of absolute chaos is amazing. Meryl Streep is at her finest and Julia Roberts delivers her best performance since Erin Brockovich, but its the ensemble cast that really pulls this movie together.
Chris Cooper and Margo Martindale are excellent, providing some of the best of the films many short scenes. The film is quick and relentless but never dull or contrived. Skip the glass of wine and get grab the bottle.
