A tightly written screenplay from Tracy Letts, a set of phenomenal performances spearheaded by Meryl Streep's desperately degenerative turn, and a fairly competent directorial effort from John Wells allow the audiences viewing "August: Osage County" to truly engage in a worthwhile cinematic effort.
