Review of Audition (2000) by Pat O — 01 Mar 2010
Man, that movie was scary. I've become a Murakami fan after reading 'In the Miso Soup' so I thought I'd check out this adaption of one of his other books.
In addition to the story, sometimes the film breaks its own rules to f**k with you. You just don't know whether something is actually happening for real or not.
Alongside some innovative camera work and visuals, Audition is a unique Japanese film of its own kind. If you're looking for something different in psychological horror like Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original), this film will blend you in suspense and shock by the climax.
