Review of Audition (2000) by Grant W — 25 May 2009
A well set up, suspenseful and often very artistic horror film that eventually descends into the expected sadistic torture porn we all know so well. With all the hype the torture sequence gets from everyone, including Rob Zombie, you'd expect something a helluvalot more outrageous than what you actually get - not that thats necessarily a good or bad thing though.
In my opinion the film was a lot better before the torture started at all - during the parts everyone else found 'slow.'.
