Review of Audition (2000) by Bernie S — 24 Oct 2009
Most american horror/thriller movies were original Japanese horror/thriller movies first like "Shutter", "The Ring", "Dark Water" and "The Grudge". This movie has yet to be made into an american version and I believe I know why.
This is probably the greatest horror/thriller ever made in Japan and no one in the US dare touch it for an american remake. Freakish obsession, great storytelling and one hell of a psycho girl make up for one of the best thrillers of ALL TIME and some of the best jaw dropping scenes I have ever seen in a movie! Takashi Miike is the "Stephen King" of Japanese horror/thriller films and has directed alot of them in Japan.
I reccommend all of them but if you like good, freakish, horror, thriller films this one is THE BEST!!! I reccommend it VERY HIGHLY!
