What a sadistic film. There are many hints of greatness in this film. However, there are a few caveats. The slow plot development might cause a person with a short attention span to give up early on. After the actual "audition", the movie finally becomes watchable.
Also, there are a few very gruesome scenes, which are not for anyone with a weak stomach. Yamazaki Asami is played perfectly, and has just the right level of creepiness and allure. However, she's not on screen nearly enough.
Instead, the movie spends far too much time focusing on Mr. Aoyama, who seems to be far too sappy and sentimental. That said, overall, it's quite a good film.
