Geez, Louis Malle made a masterpiece at a time period when (as I have said before) not many masterpieces were being made. The reason why I believe that this is such a wonderful work of art is because it is a gripping and sad film.
It's a fantastic coming of age semi autobiographical work and deserved to win an oscar (which it did in 1987, I believe).
