Review of Au Revoir les Enfants (1987) by Ben D — 01 Apr 2012
An amazing portrait of youth in the horrible era of Nazi occupied France. This is partly the story of director Louis Malle's own childhood who, while a schoolboy in France, aided in hiding a Jewish boy from the gestapo.
This film is heartbreaking in its quite and one of Malle's finest achievements.
