Review of Attack the Block (2011) by Titanium R — 17 Jun 2012
A well-crafted flick. It's not over-the-top in the action or gore, it's not at all heavy handed in the social commentary, and it's not played mainly for humor. Joe Cornish stays focused on the characters and their story, and combined with the excellent performances from the cast, the characters feel very authentic.
This... realness (it seems weird to say that about a sci-fi/horror film) is what makes Attack the Block much better than many big-budget (and low-budget) productions in similar genres. See it!
